Cheryl Rae

Group People & Communications Director

Cheryl joined Cerebos in June 2016, and has been thrilled to find a company made up of such great people with a passion for its brands, a wonderful history and a rich diversity. Soon after she began she took off again to pursue a lifelong personal goal of conquering Machu Picchu and getting to know the local Peruvian community.

Cheryl has more than 25 years’ experience in Human Resources roles. Prior to joining Cerebos she was the Human Resources Director at M Webster Holdings (which owns brands such as Marcs and David Lawrence). Previously, she notably spent over six and a half years with Woolworths Ltd Group (Australia) as the Head of Organisation and Talent Development, a role that covered all design, diversity and leadership & development for 200,000 staff. Prior to this, Cheryl worked with the South African-based Woolworths Group. She began her career in South Africa where she worked with Adidas and where she also ran her own consulting practice.

Cheryl has extensive experience across all HR functions including Team Leadership, Leadership Development, Talent Management, Coaching, Recruitment, Training, Change Management, Engagement & Recognition, Alignment, Diversity, Organisation Design, Remuneration, Employee Relations and Performance and Career Management.

Cheryl’s personal and leadership Purpose is “to help others be more” and to lead an authentic life. Assisting others is therefore an important part of who she is and outside of work Cheryl is involved with Helping Hands and is a Mentor for the Young Women’s Professional Association.

Cheryl has two sons who, while still at home, are now both studying at University and at life, and she says both work hard at bringing her boundless joy.
